Otome Reviews

Because Otome reviews deserve their own category~

Years ago, I dabbled otome and played a few games. After a long hiatus (and getting a switch) I have rekindled my interest in otome games. I have found them to be enjoyable and sometimes quite amusing. I like the fact that otome feature branching routes so you can get different outcomes to the story.
I won’t play every single otome out there because I am somewhat picky about art style and premise. I also don’t really want to play the ones that feature a heroine being 17 years of age (let the 17 year olds enjoy those stories). I don’t take otome too seriously and just have fun reading them!

Otome I won’t be Reviewing:

Mainly ones I played long ago, haven’t replayed in a while, or simply started the game and didn’t want to finish it.

Hakuoki (any version): Way back when I actually have played one of the many versions of Hakuoki available. Surprisingly, it was the phone version opposed to say the 3DS one. Honestly, I don’t really feel like I want to replay it again. I haven’t tried the newest version Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms. Maybe someday just not in the foreseeable future.

Norn9: Var Commons: I played this on my Vita when it first came out. I actually played all the routes and whatnot, but I found the story to be okay. In a moment of purging my games a few years back I decided I probably wouldn’t be replaying it anytime soon, so I sold it. I remember only actually liking one of the routes… I probably won’t be rebuying this or replaying it anytime soon.

Amnesia: I played this one on my Vita also way back in the day. I had heard acquaintances of friends giving it high praises and decided to give it a go. I did NOT like this game at all and honestly one route in particular felt REALLY uncomfortable and I actually just ended up quitting and never finishing the game. Tbh I don’t have any desire to play this game, really not my cup of tea.

Variable Barricade: 17-year-old heroine.

Nightshade: 17-year-old heroine.

Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani: Not really interested in this one… At first glance the plot and art style aren’t jiving with my personal preferences.
